Glossary T terminal: A typewriter-like keyboard and CRT display screen connected to the computer for data input/output. TFT: Thin Film Transistor. A color LCD technology that applies individual transistors to each pixel enabling fine display control and excellent screen legibility. touch pad: A pointing device integrated into the TOSHIBA computer palm rest. Often used to mean a Microsoft Windows window. wireless LAN: Local Area Network (LAN) through wireless communication. A short-range radio technology designed to simplify wireless communication with other LAN systems based on Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum radio technology that complies with the IEEE 802.11 Standard (Revision B). write protection: A method for protecting a diskette (floppy disk) from accidental erasure.
