76 Getting Started Connecting the modem Connecting the modem Your computer comes with an integrated modem. Before you can communicate using the modem, you need to connect it to a standard voice-grade telephone line. 1 Locate the modem port on the back of your computer. 2 Plug one end of a telephone cable (purchased separately) into the modem port on the back of the computer. Connecting the telephone cable to the modem port 3 Connect the other end of the telephone cable to the RJ11 wall jack of a standard voice-grade telephone line. Connecting to a wall jack
