4 Replacement Procedures 4.5 Modem 4.5 Modem Removing the Modem To remove the modem, you need to remove the HDD door first, described in the preceding section. Follow the steps below: 1. Remove one black M2.5x3 screw securing the modem to the chassis. Figure 4-7 Removing the modem screws 2. Disconnect the RJ-11 wire, then lift out the modem. NOTE: The Detroit 20E does not have a modem, so this does not apply. Installing the Modem To install a modem, follow the steps below and refer to the figures in the preceding section. 1. Removing the Modem
To remove the modem, you need to remove the HDD door first, described in the preceding
section. Follow the steps below:
1.
Remove one black M2.5x3 screw securing the modem to the chassis.

Disconnect the RJ-11 wire, then lift out the modem.
NOTE: The Detroit 20E does not have a modem, so this does not apply.
Installing the Modem
To install a modem, follow the steps below and refer to the figures in the preceding section.
1.
Connect the modem cable to the modem module.
2.
Fit the modem onto its connector and secure it with one black M2.5x3 screw.
