VIZIO® VP505XVT1A User Manual Note: When the Ø symbol shows in the menu display, it indicates that such a feature or option is not applicable to the current signal input. 5.3.3 Digital TV Parental Control As required by the FCC, the TV comes with the built-in solution to scan for ratings updates for parental control within the different regions of the United States and it is done automatically when the parental control feature is activated. This process is done only if updates are available in your area. 1. Press either the ◄ or ► button to scroll across display to the icon showing the figure of two persons. 2. Enter code to activate this feature. 3. Press the ▼ key to select Parental Lock Enable. 4. Press the ► button to activate this option. 5. The next screen will display two options in the menu. Update DTV Rating If an update has been issued in your area, this option will be highlighted to indicate availability. Press ► key to activate this option to perform an update. Press OK key to update according to the table shown. After the update is completed press the MENU button repeatedly or the EXIT once to exit the OSD completely. Channel Block Press the ▼ button to highlight the Channel Block selection. Press the ► button to go to the next screen. Press the ▼ button to highlight the channel you want to block. Press the OK button to block or unblock the highlighted channel. Once the adjustments are completed press the MENU button repeatedly or the EXIT once to exit the OSD completely.
