Setting the Printer's IP Address 6. Set the network mask: a. Press the right-arrow (---->) button until Network Mask is displayed. Press the Select button. b. Press the right-arrow (---->) button to highlight the part of the address that you want to set. Press + button to change the numbers. c. When the network mask is correct, press the Set button. d. Press the Confirm button. 7. Set the gateway address: a. Press the right-arrow (---->) button until Gateway Address is displayed. Press the Select button. b. Setting the IP address: DHCP DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a system in which UNIX and Windows NT servers can allocate IP addresses dynamically. The printer is a DHCP client; when the printer is reset, it receives an IP address from the DHCP server. Enabling DHCP on the printer Make sure that the printer's DHCP protocol is enabled. You can do this from the front panel; see Disabling and enabling protocols: Phaser 750 front panel on page 43. Installing the DHCP server 1. In Control Panel:Network, select Add Software. 2. Select TCP/IP components. 3. In the second window that is displayed, select DHCP server. Setting up a DHCP server 1. Access your DHCP management utility: I Windows NT 4.x.
