Quick Start Guide Using the Microphone while Playing (CP5 only) Using the Microphone while Playing (CP5 only) With a [MIC INPUT] jack provided on the rear panel for direct connection of a microphone, the CP5 is ideal those who like to sing and play at the same time. Furthermore, signals input via this jack can be processed using the CP5's build-in effects. The following describes the correct way to setup a microphone so that you can sing as you play the keyboard. 1 Plug your microphone into the [MIC INPUT] jack on the rear panel. 2 Ensure that the lamp for the MIC INPUT part is lit (indicating that the part is turned on). If necessary, press the [MIC INPUT] button to turn on the part. 3 Using the [GAIN] knob at the left end of the control panel, adjust the gain level for the input signal. Increase the gain by rotating the knob clockwise, and decrease it by rotating the knob counter-clockwise. The peak indicator above the [GAIN] knob will turn on whenever the input signal reaches the maximum level that the CP5 can handle. In such a case, use the [GAIN] knob to reduce the gain level accordingly. 4 If necessary, call up the parameter setting screen for the MIC INPUT part by pressing and holding the [MIC INPUT] button (for at least one second) and adjust volume, pan, and effect settings. NOTE For more details regarding the parameters on this screen, refer to the Reference Manual pdf document. effects. The following describes the correct way to setup a microphone so that you can sing as you play the keyboard.

Plug your microphone into the [MIC INPUT] jack on the rear panel.
