Setting Up Setting Up Turning the Power On/Off 1 Turn down the [MASTER VOLUME] control to "MIN". 1 2 2 Press the [ ] (Standby/On) switch to turn the power on. 3 Press and hold the [ ] (Standby/On) switch for about a second to turn the power off. CAUTION • Even when the power is off, a small amount of electricity is still being consumed by the instrument. When you are not using the instrument for a long time, make sure to unplug the AC adaptor from the wall AC outlet. NOTICE • Press only the [ ] (Standby/On) switch when turning the power on. Any other operations such as pressing keys, buttons or the pedal are not allowed. Doing so may cause the instrument to malfunction. Setting the Auto Power Off function To prevent unnecessary power consumption, this instrument features an Auto Power Off function that automatically turns the power off if the instrument is not operated for a specified period of time. The amount of time that elapses before the power is automatically turned off is 30 minutes by default; however, you can change the setting. For details, refer to page 69, Function 071. Disabling Auto Power Off (simple method) Turn the power on while holding down the lowest key on the keyboard. This starts the instrument with the Auto Power Off function disabled. NOTICE • When the instrument is not operated for a specified period of time while connected to an external device such as an amplifier, speaker or computer, make sure to follow the instructions in the Owner's Manual to turn off the power to the instrument and the connected devices, in order to protect the devices from damage. If you do not want the power to turn off automatically when a device is connected, disable Auto Power Off. NOTE • Generally, the data and settings are maintained even when the power is turned off. For details, see page 48. Adjusting the Master Volume To adjust the volume of the entire keyboard sound, use the [MASTER VOLUME] control while playing the keyboard. CAUTION • Do not use the instrument for a long period of time at a high or uncomfortable volume level, since this can cause permanent hearing loss. Using a Keyboard Stand The following keyboard stands (sold separately) can be used. • L-2C CAUTION • Do not place the instrument in an unstable position where it might accidentally slip down.
