5.1.1 DHCP (automatic IP address assignment) The IP address is automatically assigned to you by your ISP. You will see the following screen when you choose DHCP. WAN Connection Type Host Name MTU Select Enable/Disable to enable/disable WAN DHCP Some ISP and DHCP servers ask for the Host Name of the DHCP client before assigning an IP address. In this case, please key in your Host Name. Maximum Transmission Unit 5.1.2 Static (Fixed IP address assignment) The IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server are provided by your ISP. DHCP (automatic IP address assignment)
The IP address is automatically assigned to you by your ISP. You will see the following screen when you choose DHCP.
WAN
Select Enable/Disable to enable/disable WAN
Connection Type
DHCP
Host Name
Some ISP and DHCP servers ask for the Host Name of the DHCP client before assigning an
IP address. In this case, please key in your Host Name.
MTU
Maximum Transmission Unit
