How To Check F wer Steering Fluid When the enginecompartment is cool, wipe the cap and the topof the reservoir clean, then unscrew the capand wipe the dipstickwith a clean rag. Replace the capand completely tighten it. Then remove the cap again and look atthe fluid levelon the dipstick. The levelshould be at the FULL COLD mark. If necessary, add onlyenough fluid to bring the level up to the mark. What to Use To determine what kind of fluid to use, see "Recommended Fluids and Lubricants" in the Index. Always use the proper fluid. Failure to the proper use fluid can cause leaks and damage hoses and seals. Windshield Washer Fluid What to Use When you need windshield washer fluid, be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions before use.
