BJC-6500 Part 4: TROUBLESHOOTING 6. Home Position Error The home position sensor fails to detect the home position. Home position sensor, carriage motor, paper feed motor, control board, carriage ribbon cable, carriage board, and DC power supply cable Visual check OK? Yes • Check for paper jams, carriage belt wear/degradation/displacement, bent carriage guide frame, and guide shaft damage/bending. • Move the carriage by hand and check for smoothness and unusual noise. • Is the carriage ribbon cable free of creasing? No Repair or replace faulty part Open the cover and switch on Check the carriage for smooth motion Visually check the carriage's motion. OK?
