BJC-6500 Part 5: REFERENCE 1. TECHNICAL REFERENCE 1.1 Functions of the Paper Feed Unit The paper feeding function of this printer is to feed the print media from the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF) through to the print start position. The ASF is driven by the paper feed motor, and automatically feeds the print media. When the print media has been detected by the photo-interrupter type paper end sensor, it is fed to the print start position on the platen via the paper feed rollers. If print media is fed, but not detected by the paper end sensor, a paper feed error will occur. Also, after the paper end sensor has detected the paper and measured the amount of paper fed, if this amount is low, the printer will utilize the paper feed assistance function to reattempt paper feeding. 1.1 Functions of the Paper Feed Unit
The paper feeding function of this printer is to feed the print media from the Auto Sheet
Feeder (ASF) through to the print start position.
The ASF is driven by the paper feed motor, and automatically feeds the print media.
When the print media has been detected by the photo-interrupter type paper end
sensor, it is fed to the print start position on the platen via the paper feed rollers.
If print media is fed, but not detected by the paper end sensor, a paper feed error will
occur.
Also, after the paper end sensor has detected the paper and measured the amount of
