68 Using the Digital Zoom/ Digital Tele-Converter Available Shooting Modes p. 284 You can combine digital zoom with optical zoom when shooting. The available shooting characteristics and focal lengths (35mm film equivalent) are as follows. Selection Standard Off 1.4x 2.3x Focal Length Shooting Characteristics Equivalent to Enables shooting at zoom factors of up to 28 - 2240 mm 80x with digital and optical zoom combined. Equivalent to Enables shooting without digital zoom. 28 - 560 mm Digital zoom is fixed at the selected zoom Equivalent to factor, and the focal length shifts to 39.2 - 784 mm maximum telephoto. This enables a faster shutter speed and Equivalent to less chance of camera shake than a shot 64.4 - 1288 mm taken at the same angle of view with [Standard] or [Off].
