Integrated Management Log 5-3 Compaq Survey Utility The Compaq Survey Utility is a serviceability tool available for Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 2000, and Novell NetWare that delivers online configuration capture and comparison to maximize server node availability. The utility is delivered on the Compaq Management CD in the Cluster Setup and Management pack, or it is available on the Compaq website. Refer to the Compaq Management CD for information on installing and running the Survey Utility. After you have run the Survey Utility, you can view the Compaq Integrated Management Log by loading the output of the utility (typically called SURVEY.TXT) into a text viewer such as Microsoft Notepad. The event list follows the system slot information. Once you have opened the text file, you can print it using the print feature of the viewer. List of Events The event list displays the affected components and the associated error messages. Although the same basic information is displayed, the format of the list may be different depending on how you are viewing it from within Compaq Insight Manager or the Compaq Survey Utility. Table 5-1 identifies the event types (affected components) and associated event messages. Compaq Survey Utility
The Compaq Survey Utility is a serviceability tool available for Microsoft
Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 2000, and Novell NetWare that delivers
online configuration capture and comparison to maximize server node
availability. The utility is delivered on the Compaq Management CD in the
Cluster Setup and Management pack, or it is available on the Compaq website.
Refer to the Compaq Management CD for information on installing and
running the Survey Utility.
