With most Cable and DSL connections, you are assigned a dynamic IP address and that address is used only for the duration of that specific connection. With the DCS-3420, you can set up your DDNS service and the DCS-3420 will automatically update your DDNS server every time it receives a different IP address. Enable DDNS: Check to enable the DDNS function. Provider: Select your Dynamic DNS provider from the drop down menu. Host Name: Enter the host name of the DDNS server. Section 3 - Configuration
Dynamic DNS (Domain Name Service)
is a method of keeping a domain name
linked to a changing (dynamic) IP address.
With most Cable and DSL connections,
you are assigned a dynamic IP address
and that address is used only for the
duration of that specific connection.
With the DCS-3420, you can set up
your DDNS service and the DCS-3420
will automatically update your DDNS
server every time it receives a different
IP address.
Check to enable the DDNS function.
Select your Dynamic DNS provider
from the drop down menu.
Enter the host name of the DDNS
server.
Enter your username or e-mail used to connect to the DDNS server.
