Installing The Wheel Assembly 1. If applicable, rotate the system feet inward. 2. Lay the system on its side on a sturdy, stable surface with the base of the system extending off the edge of the surface. 3. If applicable, remove the system feet. 4. Align the two retention hooks on the back wheel assembly unit with the two slots on the base of the chassis, and insert the hooks into the slots. 5. Offset the back wheel assembly slightly to the back of the system and secure the unit in place using a single screw. 6. Align the two retention hooks on the front wheel assembly with the two slots on the base of the chassis, and insert the hooks into the slots. 7. Offset the front wheel assembly slightly to the front and secure the unit in place using a screw. 8. Using two screws, install the support unit on the base of the chassis. 9. Place the system upright on a sturdy, stable surface. Opening And Closing The System WARNING: Whenever you need to lift the system, get others to assist you. To avoid injury, do not attempt to lift the system by yourself. WARNING: Opening or removing the system cover when the system is on may expose you to a risk of electric shock. CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product. CAUTION: Do not operate the system without the cover for a duration exceeding five minutes. Opening The System NOTE: It is recommended that you always use a static mat and static strap while working on components in the interior of the system. 1. Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals. 2. If applicable, rotate the system feet inward and lay the system on its side on a flat, stable surface. NOTE: For systems installed with the wheel assembly, ensure that you lay the system on a sturdy surface with the wheel assembly extending off the edge of the surface. 3. Using a screwdriver, rotate the latch release lock on the system cover counter clockwise to the unlocked position. 4. Press the cover release latch and lift the cover away from the system. 43

Installing The Wheel Assembly
1.
If applicable, rotate the system feet inward.
2.
Lay the system on its side on a sturdy, stable surface with the base of the system extending off the edge of the
surface.
3.
If applicable, remove the system feet.
4.
Align the two retention hooks on the back wheel assembly unit with the two slots on the base of the chassis, and
insert the hooks into the slots.
5.
Offset the back wheel assembly slightly to the back of the system and secure the unit in place using a single screw.
6.
Align the two retention hooks on the front wheel assembly with the two slots on the base of the chassis, and insert
the hooks into the slots.
7.
Offset the front wheel assembly slightly to the front and secure the unit in place using a screw.
8.
Using two screws, install the support unit on the base of the chassis.
9.
Place the system upright on a sturdy, stable surface.
Opening And Closing The System
WARNING: Whenever you need to lift the system, get others to assist you. To avoid injury, do not attempt to lift the
system by yourself.
