Update recommendation All products supported by Fabric OS 6.0.x can be upgraded to Fabric OS 6.4.1, with the exception of the following switches: • HP StorageWorks 4/8 SAN Switch • HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch • Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch for HP p-Class BladeSystem • Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem If applicable, HP recommends that you upgrade to Fabric OS 6.4.1 as soon as possible to take advantage of the latest fixes and features. For more information, see "Firmware upgrades and downgrades" on page 25. Supersedes Fabric OS 6.4.0c, released September 2010 New features This section describes further details on the new features introduced with Fabric OS 6.4. See the Fabric OS Administrator's Guide for 6.4.1 for further details on the features in this release. FCIP enhancements The following FCIP related enhancements were implemented in Fabric OS 6.4.0, and carried forward with 6.4.1: • IPsec support on DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade-Fabric OS 6.4.0 added IPsec support for the FCIP tunnels on the DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade. IPsec is supported on the FCIP tunnels configured on 1GbE and 10GbE ports of the extension blade. • IPv6 support on 1606 Extension SAN Switch and DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade FCIP ports-Fabric OS 6.4.0 added IPv6 support for 1GbE/10GbE FCIP ports on the DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade and on the 1GbE ports on the 1606 Extension SAN Switch platform. • VEX support on DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade-Fabric OS 6.4.0 release added support for the VEX ports on the DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade in both VF-enabled and VF-disabled modes. • DSCP Marking support on 1606 Extension SAN Switch and DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade FCIP ports-Fabric OS 6.4.0 enabled DSCP marking support on DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade and 1606 Extension SAN Switch platform. The Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) is a way of classifying traffic to allow network administrators to determine the per-hop behavior of any given IP packet. • Support for four DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blades per chassis-Fabric OS 6.4.0 increased the support for the maximum number of DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blades supported in a DC SAN Backbone and DC04 SAN Director chassis from 2 to 4. • Troubleshooting enhancements - New tperf diagnostic CLI-Fabric OS 6.4.0 added support for a new FCIP diagnostic CLI tperf used to determine tunnel characteristics, generate High, Medium, 6
