Removal and Replacement Procedures Using the Integrated Administrator The Integrated Administrator performs an emergency shutdown of the enclosure and all server blades only after trying for 5 minutes to perform a graceful shutdown. See the "Performing a Graceful Shutdown" section in this chapter. If, after 5 minutes, the Integrated Administrator cannot perform a graceful shutdown on the enclosure and all server blades, the Integrated Administrator performs an automatic emergency shutdown. To power down the enclosure using the Integrated Administrator, refer to the HP ProLiant BL e-Class Integrated Administrator User Guide for detailed instructions. Pressing and Holding the Enclosure Power Button You can also perform an emergency shutdown of a ProLiant BL e-Class enclosure and all server blades by pressing and holding the power button on the rear of the enclosure for 4 seconds. CAUTION: Performing an emergency shutdown on a server blade may result in the loss of any unsaved data on all server blades in that enclosure. Repeat this step to power up the ProLiant BL e-Class enclosure. Removing AC Power Completely To completely remove power from the enclosure and all server blades, after powering down the enclosure, disconnect both of the power cords from the AC power source, then disconnect both of the power cords from the rear panel of the enclosure. You can also perform an emergency shutdown of a ProLiant BL e-Class enclosure and all
server blades by pressing and holding the power button on the rear of the enclosure for 4
seconds.
CAUTION:
Performing an emergency shutdown on a server blade may result in the loss of
any unsaved data on all server blades in that enclosure.
Repeat this step to power up the ProLiant BL e-Class enclosure.
Removing AC Power Completely
To completely remove power from the enclosure and all server blades, after powering down
the enclosure, disconnect both of the power cords from the AC power source, then disconnect
both of the power cords from the rear panel of the enclosure.

Reverse these steps to power up the enclosure.
