Diagnostic Tools Diagnostic Software and Firmware Tools The ProLiant BL e-Class Integrated Administrator is a standard component of the HP ProLiant BL e-Class system. The Integrated Administrator provides enclosure health, server blade health, and remote server manageability. Integrated Administrator features are accessed from any network-based client using a supported Web browser. In addition to other features, Integrated Administrator provides keyboard and mouse capability for a server blade, regardless of the state of the host operating system or host server blade. Use the following tools to diagnose problems, test hardware, and monitor and manage ProLiant BL e-Class system operations. Table 3-1: Diagnostic Tools Tool ProLiant BL e-Class Integrated Administrator Automatic Server Recovery-2 (ASR-2) Description The ProLiant BL e-Class Integrated Administrator is a centralized management and monitoring system for the ProLiant BL e-Class enclosure and server blades. The Integrated Administrator acts as a combination terminal server and remote power controller, enabling out-of-band, secure, serial console connections to all server blades in the enclosure. ASR-2 automatically restarts a server blade after a catastrophic operating system failure. With ASR-2, you have multiple recovery options: • Available Recovery provides software error recovery and environmental recovery. • Unattended Recovery logs the error information to the IML, resets the server blade, and tries to restart the operating system.
