Specifically, it can: • Store configuration information in nonvolatile memory. • Manage memory installation, processor upgrades, network interface cards, and mass storage devices. • Assist in installing an operating system. • Configure connectors and IRQs, if required. ROMPaq Utility The ROMPaq Utility checks the system and provides a choice of available ROM revisions and controller firmware. Diagnostic Adapter Use the diagnostic adapter to attach peripheral devices to any individual server blade for local server blade diagnosis and management. See Chapter 4, "Connectors, Switches, and LEDs" for the location of diagnostic adapter connectors. IMPORTANT: You can hot-add peripheral devices using the diagnostic adapter if the devices support hot-plug capability. To install the diagnostic adapter: 1. Power down the server blade.
