Audio board Description For use in full-featured models (includes audio connectors, audio board cable, and infrared lens) For use in defeatured models (includes audio connectors, audio board cable, and infrared lens) Spare part number 446523-001 449967-001 Before removing the audio board, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 46). 5. Remove the following components: a. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 51) b. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 59) c. Switch cover (see Switch cover on page 61) d. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 65) e. Speaker assembly (see Speaker assembly on page 63) f. Display assembly (see Display assembly on page 68) g. Top cover (see Top cover on page 74) h. System board (see System board on page 82) Remove the audio board: 1. Remove the two Phillips PM2.5×4.0 screws (1) that secure the audio board to the computer. 2. Release the audio board (2) by sliding it back to disengage the audio connectors from the openings in the base enclosure. Component replacement procedures 85
