Activating and Accessing Fabric Watch Chapter 2 This chapter contains the following sections: • "Activating Fabric Watch," next • "Accessing Fabric Watch" on page 2-3 Activating Fabric Watch Fabric Watch must be activated on each switch individually before use. - Note If the Administrative Domain feature is enabled on the switch, the local switch must be a member of the current Admin Domain in order for the Fabric Watch feature to be fully usable: - CLI: Fabric Watch commands cannot be used, except the fwPortDetailShow command. It will still show filtered output in Admin Domain context even if the local switch is not a member of the current domain. - Web Tools: Web Tools allows view-only access to all threshold configuration values even if the local switch is not a member of the current domain. However, the thresholds can be changed only if the local switch is a member of the current Admin Domain. For more information on the Administrative Domain feature, see the Fabric OS Administrator's Guide. Use telnet or Web Tools to activate Fabric Watch, as described next. Web Tools offers a user-friendly graphical interface that most users find convenient. After it is activated, configure Fabric Watch to monitor your system and its health, as described in Chapter 3, "Configuring Fabric Watch". Activating Fabric Watch
Fabric Watch must be activated on each switch individually before use.
Use telnet or Web Tools to activate Fabric Watch, as described next. Web Tools offers a user-friendly
graphical interface that most users find convenient.
After it is activated, configure Fabric Watch to monitor your system and its health, as described in
Chapter 3, “Configuring Fabric Watch”

If the Administrative Domain feature is enabled on the switch, the local switch must be a member of the
current Admin Domain in order for the Fabric Watch feature to be fully usable:
