Regulatory Compliance Notices Laser Safety A. Certification and Classification Information When equipped with native Fibre Channel adapters, this product contains a laser internal to the small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules. In the USA, the SFP module is certified as a Class 1 Laser product, conforming to the requirements contained in Department Of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulation 21 CFR, Subchapter J. The certification is indicated by a label on the metal SFP housing. Outside the USA, the SFP is certified as a Class 1 Laser product conforming to requirements contained in IEC 825-1:1993 and EN60825-1:1994, including Amendment 11:1996. The SFP includes the following certifications: ■ UL Recognized Component (USA) ■ CSA Certified Component (Canada) ■ TUV Certified Component (European Union) ■ CB Certificate (Worldwide) The following figure shows the Class 1 information label that appears on the metal housing of the SFP. The transmitter subassembly contains internally a semiconductor laser diode in the wavelength of either 850 nanometers (shortwave laser) or 1310 nanometers (longwave laser). Laser Safety
A. Certification and Classification Information
When equipped with native Fibre Channel adapters, this product contains a laser
internal to the small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules.
In the USA, the SFP module is certified as a Class 1 Laser product, conforming to
the requirements contained in Department Of Health and Human Services
(DHHS) regulation 21 CFR, Subchapter J. The certification is indicated by a label
on the metal SFP housing.
Outside the USA, the SFP is certified as a Class 1 Laser product conforming to
requirements contained in IEC 825-1:1993 and EN60825-1:1994, including
Amendment 11:1996.
The SFP includes the following certifications:
UL Recognized Component (USA)
CSA Certified Component (Canada)
TUV Certified Component (European Union)
CB Certificate (Worldwide)
The following figure shows the Class 1 information label that appears on the metal

B. Product Information
