Technical Specifications Environmental Requirements To ensure proper operation, the switch must not be subjected to environmental conditions beyond those for which it was tested. The ranges specified in Table 19 list the acceptable environment for both operating and non-operating conditions. Table 19: Environmental Requirements Condition Temperature Humidity Altitude Acceptable Range During Operation -10° to +40° C (12° to 122° F) 20% to 85% RH non-condensing, at 40° C, with maximum gradient of 10% per hour 0 to 10,000 ft (3 km) above sea level Acceptable Range During Non-operation -50° to 100° C (-122° to 212° F) 10% to 85% RH noncondensing, at 70° C 0 to 39,370 ft (12 km) above sea level Shock Vibration Air flow 20 G, 6 ms duration, half sine wave 0.5 G, 5-500 Hz Normal: 24 cubic ft/minute 15 G, 12-18 ms duration, trapezoid 2.0 G, 5-500 Hz None required 1 fan failed remaining running at high speed): 30 cfm All fans running at high speed: 44 cfm Note: The 0° - 40° Celsius range applies to the ambient air temperature at the air intake vents on the nonport side of the switch. The temperature inside the switch can be up to 75° Celsius during switch operation. If the internal temperature range exceeds the operating ranges of the components, the LEDs, error messages, and Fabric Watch alerts will indicate a problem. Enter the tempshow or Fabric Watch commands to view temperature status. 96 SAN Switch 2/8V, 2/16V and 2/16N Installation Guide
