Upgrading the Fabric Manager client after upgrading the Fabric Manager server After upgrading the Fabric Manager server, delete all existing shortcuts for the Fabric Manager client. In order for the client to attach to the upgraded server, enter the IP address of the server into the browser window. You should see Javastart install the upgraded client. If you do not, close the browser and try again. Switch configuration settings lost in Fabric Manager upgrade Any previously backed up switch configuration files and user-configured settings for scheduling a Switch Configuration Backup are lost after the upgrade from Fabric Manager 5.3x or 5.4x to 5.5. When upgrading from 5.3x or 5.4x to 5.5, perform the following steps: 1. Export the switch configuration files for each switch using the Tools > Switch Configuration > View Configuration Repository dialog. 2. Complete the upgrade. 3. Import the previous switch configuration files using the Tools > Switch Configuration > View Configuration Repository dialog. 4. Reconfigure the scheduled backup settings. Performance Monitoring settings lost in Fabric Manager upgrade Performance Monitoring configured at the SAN level is lost after an upgrade from Fabric Manager 5.3x or 5.4x to 5.5. Port Data Collection and Alerts are disabled (turned on) for the entire SAN after the upgrade. The issue occurs only if Performance Monitoring is enabled at the SAN level. If Performance Monitoring is enabled at the SAN level, after an upgrade, reconfigure Performance Monitoring at the SAN level after the upgrade. Using the Configure FCIP Tunnel wizard The Configure FCIP tunnel wizard is supported only on switches running Fabric OS 5.3 and later. It will not work with other Fabric OS versions.
