7 The QR ISO image In the rare occurrence of a complete system failure it may be necessary to re-install the product software. This task is normally carried out on the recommendation and under the supervision of HP Support. CAUTION: The Quick Restore process will delete all stored data and configuration settings returning your product to factory default settings. Download Quick Restore ISO Image The StoreOnce Quick Restore ISO Image is used to install the Gen 3 software image onto the StoreOnce appliance disks. The Quick Restore ISO Image is available for download from: http:// www.hp.com/go/storeonceqr. You will need an HP Passport account to download the QR image, this can be created when you first access the download website. Select StoreOnce 26xx, 42xx, 43xx appliances QR image and download the ISO. Create a bootable QR USB Stick Download the HP USB Creation tool from the HP Insight Foundation website, this is used to copy the content of the QR image to a 4GB Flash stick using a Windows PC. The website is at: http:// www.hp.com/go/foundation. 1. Select the Downloads tab. 2. Scroll down to the HP USB Key for Windows application. 3. Download the latest version. 4. Install on a Windows PC. 5. Run Start - All Programs - HP System Tools - HP USB Key Utility. 6. When prompted to select a task to performance choose: Create a bootable USB Key from CD/DVD. And click Next. 7. Insert a blank 4GB USB key when prompted. This USB key must not contain any previously configured Linux partitions, it may contain a single FAT32 partition which will be overwritten. 8. On the Select Media page choose Browse for ISO file and locate the downloaded QR image. Choose the drive letter of the USB key media to be used. 9. Proceed with the USB Key creation. 10. Once complete safely remove the USB stick from the Windows PC. Boot the appliance and install the StoreOnce 3.4.0 (or later) Software Make sure that power, network, keyboard and monitor, and all expansion enclosures are attached to the StoreOnce appliance that you are converting then Insert the QR USB stick into one of the front or rear USB and power on the system. After the system powers up and completes self-tests it will boot from the USB key and launch the Linux installation process. After a few seconds a boot splash screen will appear offering the choice or Reimage (R) or Exit (E), press R to continue to installation process. A warning will now be displayed indicating that all data will be lost after pressing "y". THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE TO EXIT THE INSTALL PROCESS WITHOUT DATA LOSS. Press "y" to continue. 7 The QR ISO image
In the rare occurrence of a complete system failure it may be necessary to re-install the product
software. This task is normally carried out on the recommendation and under the supervision of
HP Support.
CAUTION:
The Quick Restore process will delete all stored data and configuration settings
returning your product to factory default settings.
Download Quick Restore ISO Image
The StoreOnce Quick Restore ISO Image is used to install the Gen 3 software image onto the
StoreOnce appliance disks. The Quick Restore ISO Image is available for download from:

You will need an HP Passport account to download the QR image, this can be created when you

Select
StoreOnce 26xx, 42xx, 43xx appliances QR image
and download the ISO.
Create a bootable QR USB Stick
Download the HP USB Creation tool from the HP Insight Foundation website, this is used to copy
the content of the QR image to a 4GB Flash stick using a Windows PC. The website is at:

Select the
Downloads
tab.
2.
Scroll down to the

application.
3.

Start — All Programs — HP System Tools — HP USB Key Utility

When prompted to select a task to performance choose:

page choose

and locate the downloaded QR image.
Choose the drive letter of the USB key media to be used.

Boot the appliance and install the StoreOnce 3.4.0 (or later) Software
Make sure that power, network, keyboard and monitor, and all expansion enclosures are attached
to the StoreOnce appliance that you are converting then Insert the QR USB stick into one of the
front or rear USB and power on the system.
After the system powers up and completes self-tests it will boot from the USB key and launch the
Linux installation process.
