Data Formatter When Data Formatter is turned off, the bar code data is output to the host as read (including prefixes and suffixes). Choose one of the following options. Default = Data Formatter On. * Data Formatter On, but Not Required Data Formatter Off When Data Formatter is required, all input data must conform to an edited format or the scanner does not transmit the input data to the host device. Data Format On, Format Required Alternate Data Formats Alternate formats allow you "single shot" capability to scan one bar code using a different data format than your primary format. When data formats are programmed (see page 5-1), you must input whether you are programming the primary format, or an alternate format numbered 1, 2, or 3. An alternate format is initiated by scanning one of the 3 alternate format bar codes below. The scanner will scan the next bar code, formatting the data with the selected alternate format, then revert immediately to the primary format. Data Formatter
When Data Formatter is turned off, the bar code data is output to the host as read
(including prefixes and suffixes).
Choose one of the following options.
Default =
Data Formatter On.
When Data Formatter is required, all input data must conform to an edited format
or the scanner does not transmit the input data to the host device.
Alternate Data Formats
Alternate formats allow you “single shot” capability to scan one bar code using a
different data format than your primary format.
When data formats are
programmed (see
page 5-1
), you must input whether you are programming the
primary format, or an alternate format numbered 1, 2, or 3.
