Replacing the internal speaker 1. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the cover" on page 83. 2. Pivot the drive bay assembly upward to gain access to the system board. 3. Locate and disconnect the internal speaker connector on the system board. See "Identifying parts on the system board" on page 85. Note: Make sure you note the location of the speaker cable when you disconnect it from the system board. 4. Slide the internal speaker 1 upward until the speaker is released from the metal tabs that secure it at the bottom. Then pivot the bottom of the internal speaker outward and remove the speaker from the chassis. Chapter 8. Replacing FRUs 111

the
computer

Pivot
the
drive
bay
assembly
upward
to
gain
access
to
the
system
board.
3.
Locate
and
disconnect
the
internal
speaker
connector
on
the
system
board.

Note:
Make
sure
you
note
the
location
of
the
speaker
cable
when
you
disconnect
it
from
the
system
board.
4.
Slide
the
internal
speaker
±1²
upward
until
the
speaker
is
released
from
the
metal
tabs
that
secure
it
at
the
bottom.
Then
pivot
the
bottom
of
the
internal
speaker
outward
and
remove
the
speaker
from
the
chassis.
