AF-S and AF-I lenses are equipped with an autofocus motor. Autofocus is not possible when any other type of lens is mounted, regardless of the autofocus capabilities of the lens itself. C Lens f-number The f-number included at the end of lens names (e.g., f/2.8 or f/3.5-5.6) is the maximum aperture of the lens. C Recognizing CPU and Type G and D Lenses CPU lenses can be identified by the presence of CPU contacts, type G and D lenses by a letter on the lens barrel.Type G lenses are not equipped with a lens aperture ring.
