Technical Notes Problem Possible cause Photos are blurred • Camera shook during shot. Blurring caused by camera shake can be reduced by: - Using the flash 43 - Using the Best-Shot Selector (BSS) 57 - Using the self-timer 45 - Using a tripod - Randomly-spaced bright pixels ("noise") appear in image • Shutter speed too slow. Use the flash. 43 • Noise reduction, which helps reduce noise at 38, slow shutter speeds, is available in the follow- 39 ing scenes: Night Portrait and Night Land- scape. Using these scenes when appropriate can reduce noise. Flash does not fire • Flash is off.
