26 Taking Pictures with the Self-Timer The camera is equipped with a ten-second timer for self-portraits. When using the self-timer, mount the camera on a tripod (recommended) or rest it on a flat, and stable surface. 1 Press H (self-timer). • The self-timer menu is displayed. Basic Photography and Playback: L (Auto) Mode 2 Press the multi selector G or H to choose [ON] and press d. • The 10H icon is displayed. • If a setting is not applied by pressing d within five seconds, the selection will be cancelled. Self-timer ON OFF OFF • For information on using the multi selector, see "Multi Selector" (c 8). 3 Frame the picture and press L the shutter-release button halfway. • Focus and exposure will be set. 10 5 4 Press the shutter-release but- L ton the rest of the way down. • The self-timer starts and the self- timer lamp will blink. The lamp stops 10 blinking one second before the pho- tograph is taken and remains lit until 5 the shutter is released. • The number of seconds remaining before the shutter is released is dis- played in the monitor. • To stop the timer before a picture is taken, press the shutter-release but- ton again.

The camera is equipped with a ten-second timer for self-portraits.

Press the shutter-release but-
ton the rest of the way down.
• The self-timer starts and the self-
timer lamp will blink. The lamp stops
blinking one second before the pho-
tograph is taken and remains lit until
the shutter is released.
• The number of seconds remaining
before the shutter is released is dis-
played in the monitor.
• To stop the timer before a picture is
taken, press the shutter-release but-
ton again.
