Configuring Speaker Set A-Continued CH SEL TEST CABLE/SAT CD/DVD CH + LEVEL / VOLUME / 3 When you've adjusted each speaker, press the remote control- ler's [TEST] button. The test tone stops and the previous dis- play reappears. Note: If no adjustments are made for two minutes, this function is cancelled automatically and the previous display reappears. Adjusting Individual Speaker Volume With this function you can adjust the volume of each individual speaker so that you can hear all speakers equally at the listening position. Note: You cannot use this function while the TX-SR501/ TX-SR501E is muted (see page 33). 1 Press the remote controller's [TEST] button, and turn up the vol- ume so that you can hear the test tone sufficiently. While each speaker outputs the test tone (pink noise), its name appears on the display, as shown. 2 Use the remote controller's [CH SEL] button to select each speaker, and use the LEVEL [ ] [ ] buttons to adjust the volume. Speakers are selected in the following order: Left → Center → Right → Surr Right → Surr Back → Surr Left → Subwoofer. You can adjust the volume of each speaker from -12 dB to +12 dB. Notes: • Only speakers that are included in the current configuration output the test tone. See "Specifying the Number of Speakers" on page 25. • The subwoofer will not output the test tone if it's off. See "Setting the Subwoofer Mode" on page 25. • If you don't press any buttons for two seconds, the next speaker is selected automatically. 27
