SELECTING THE INPUT MODE SELECTING THE INPUT MODE You can select the type of audio input signals of the selected input source according to your preference or the conditions of the input source. y We recommend setting the input mode to AUTO in most cases. TV/AV YSP 2 Press one of the input selector buttons on the remote control to select the desired input source. STB VCR DVD AUX TV Notes • The input mode of VCR is fixed to ANALOG. However, if the TV OPTICAL IN jack of this unit is assigned to VCR, AUTO, DTS and ANALOG become available as the input mode of VCR (see page 65). • ANALOG is not available as the input mode of DVD and AUX. • AUTO Automatically selects audio input signals in the following priority order: 1) Dolby Digital or DTS 2) PCM 3) Analog Use this input mode in most cases. • DTS Selects only digital signals encoded in DTS. Compared to AUTO, this input mode provides greater stability while playing back CDs or LDs encoded in DTS. • ANALOG Selects only analog signals. Even when both digital and analog signals are input simultaneously, only analog signals are selected. y You can adjust the default input mode to be selected when the power of this unit is turned on (see page 65). 3 Press INPUTMODE on the remote control repeatedly to toggle between input modes. Set the operation mode selector to YSP to
switch to the operation mode of this unit.

Press one of the input selector buttons on
the remote control to select the desired input
source.

Press INPUTMODE on the remote control
repeatedly to toggle between input modes.
The input mode of VCR is fixed to ANALOG. However, if the
TV OPTICAL IN jack of this unit is assigned to VCR, AUTO,
DTS and ANALOG become available as the input mode of
VCR (see page 65).
ANALOG is not available as the input mode of DVD and AUX.
AUTO
Automatically selects audio input signals in the following
priority order:
1) Dolby Digital or DTS
2) PCM
3) Analog
Use this input mode in most cases.
DTS
Selects only digital signals encoded in DTS.
Compared to AUTO, this input mode provides greater
stability while playing back CDs or LDs encoded in DTS.
ANALOG
Selects only analog signals.
Even when both digital and analog signals are input
simultaneously, only analog signals are selected.

You can adjust the default input mode to be selected when the
power of this unit is turned on (see page 65).
