Then, without shutting off the engine, follow these steps: 1. The dipstick is located toward back of the engine the compartment, near the center. The dipstick a has bright redloop design for easier identification. Pull outthe dipstick and wipe with a clean rag or it paper towel. 2. Push it back in all the way, wait three seconds and then pull it back out again. 3. Check both sides of the dipstick, and read thelower level. The fluid level mustbe in the cross-hatched area. 4. If the fluid level is in the acceptable range, push the dipstick backin all the way. t 6-17
