Instruments and controls 3-5 The key is near another key that contains an immobilizer transponder. The reminder chime sounds when the drivers door opens and the key is in the LOCK or ACC positions. The chime stops when the key is removed from the ignition switch. For easy access to the ignition switch in the dark, the ignition switch light comes on when drivers door is opened. The light remains on for 10 seconds and goes out after drivers door is closed or if the key is turned to the ON position. Key reminder chime dealer immediately to have the key interlock system repaired. Ignition switch light 2. Remove the cover under the steering column using a Phillips screwdriver. 300569 If the key can not be turned to the LOCK position even when the selector lever is in the P position: 1. Take out the screwdriver from the tool bag. Key interlock release (AT vehicles only) 3. Turn the ignition key while pressing the key interlock release lever.
