Access Levels and Passwords Access Levels and Passwords The CLI has two levels of access: operator or administrator. The default password for both levels is admin. Operator-level Access From the operator level, you can monitor the current status of the iSCSI Storage Appliance, but you cannot make any configuration changes. To set the operator password, type: password operator new password ***** confirm new password ***** Note You must be in Administrator level to set passwords. Administrator-level Access From the administrator level, you have full access to all the features of the software and can make changes to the configuration of the iSCSI Storage Appliance. Note The default administrator password is admin. To change the administrator password type: password administrator new password ***** confirm new password ***** Switching Access Levels To switch from operator level to administrator level, type administrator, press Enter, type the administrator password, then press Enter. To switch from administrator level to operator level, type operator. Note If you forget a password, you can log into the iSCSI Storage Appliance by connecting a serial cable to the COM 1 port of the iSCSI Storage Appliance and using a terminal emulation program, such as Hyperterminal. (For terminal emulation program settings, see page 177.) You are not required to enter a password. The CLI has two levels of access: operator

Operator-level Access
