Console Port OmniSwitch 6850E Series Chassis and Hardware Components Console Port The console port, located on the chassis front panel, provides a console connection to the switch and is required when logging into the switch for the first time. By default, this RJ-45 connector provides an RS232 DTE console connection. Serial Connection Default Settings The factory default settings for the serial connection are as follows: baud rate parity data bits (word size) stop bits flow control 9600 none 8 1 none Modifying the Serial Connection Settings The switch's serial connection defaults are listed above. If you wish to modify the default serial connection settings (i.e., baud rate, parity, data bits, and stop bits), refer to the following steps: Note. For switches in a stacked configuration, all changes must be configured before the switches are cabled together. The console port, located on the chassis front panel, provides a console connection to the switch and is
required when logging into the switch for the first time. By default, this RJ-45 connector provides an RS-
232 DTE console connection.
