There are two important things to consider when using the commit system command to save serial connection changes: • Output to the terminal may become illegible due to incompatible serial connection settings between the switch and the terminal emulation software. • If you use the commit system command only, changes will not be saved to the switch's boot.params file and will be lost if the switch is rebooted.
