Reloading Switches Managing OmniSwitch 6850/6850E Series Stacks If there are only two switches in the stack, the switch that was reloaded (the former secondary) resumes the secondary role when it comes back up. Reloading the Secondary Management Module In a Stack of Two
In this stack of two switches, the slot 1 switch is the primary man-
agement module. The slot 2 switch is the secondary.
The user reloads the stack’s secondary management module by
issuing the
reload secondary
command. Any data flow on the
secondary switch’s Ethernet is interrupted.
As the secondary switch reboots, the primary management mod-
ule continues to operate without interruption. Meanwhile the
stack has no interim secondary management module as the switch
reboots.
