5.5 Power menu The Power menu items allow you to change the system power saving, power up control, and hardware monitor settings. Select an item, then press to display the configuration options. Power Management [User Defined] Allows you to activate or deactivate the automatic power saving features. When set to [Disabled], the power management features do not function regardless of the other settings on this menu. The [User Defined] option allows you to set the period of inactivity before the system enters suspend mode. Refer to "Suspend Mode" later in this section. When set to [Max Saving], system power is conserved to its greatest amount. This setting automatically puts the system into suspend mode after a brief period of system inactivity. [Min Saving] allows the least power saving as the system enters suspend mode only after a long period of inactivity. Configuration options: [User Defined] [Disabled] [Min Saving] [Max Saving] In Windows® 98 or later, APM is automatically installed as indicated by a battery and power cord icon labeled "Power Management" in the Control Panel. Select the item "Advanced" in the Power Management Properties dialog box to configure the APM settings. Video Off Option [Suspend -> Off ] This field determines when to activate the video off feature for monitor power management.
