170 Chapter 8: Encoding With the Floating Point compressors, clicking the Options button opens the Float 64 dialog. Endian order is the byte order used for storage. Choose from: Big Endian - means that the high-order byte of the number is stored in memory at the lowest address, and the low-order byte at the highest address. (The big end comes first.) Little Endian - means that the low-order byte of the number is stored in memory at the lowest address, and the high-order byte at the highest address. (The little end comes first.) Although readable on both platforms, choose Big for best results on Macintosh machines and Little for best results on Windows machines. WAVE File Suffix Enable File Suffix to automatically add the default .wav file type suffix to the output file for cross-platform compatibility. You can select and change the suffix if needed.
