7.4.2 Set the base ringer volume You can set the telephone base ringer volume from level 1 to level 5 or turn off the ringer 1. Press . 2. Press to select BASE TONES. 3. Press to show BASE VOLUME and then press again. 4. Press to select the desired setting from OFF or LEVEL 1-5 (each level will play as it is selected) and then press to confirm your chosen volume. 7.4.3 Register a Handset IMPORTANT: When you purchase your phone system, all handsets are already registered to your base, so you do not need to register them. Handset registration is only necessary when you buy extra handsets or if a handset has become faulty. You can register additional handsets to have up to five handset per base unit, with each handset's number (1 to 5) shown on its display. (NOTE: Each handset can only be registered to one base.) To add or re-register a handset: 1. Press . 2. Press to select ADV SETTING and then press . 3. Press to select REGISTER and then press . 4. Modify the displayed PIN, if necessary, using to delete digits and the keypad to enter new ones, then press to confirm, and the display will show WAITING with SEARCHING flashing. 5. Press and hold the button on the telephone base for 5 seconds until a beep sounds on the base. 6. After a short time, a beep will sound on the handset if the registration is successful, and the display will show the registered handset number. NOTE: An error tone will sound if the registration is not successful, and REGISTRATION FAILED will display for a few seconds. 26
