8.7.2 Number of rings before the system answers You can select the number of rings before the answering system answers a call and starts playing the OGA. You can set the delay from 3 to 8 rings, or TOLL SAVER. IMPORTANT: If your network voice messaging system (e.g. the 1571 service) is enabled, you must set your Ring Delay to less than 6 rings, otherwise the network service will answer any calls before the answering machine of your iDECT C10i and prevent it from recording any messages. 1. Press . 2. Press to select ANS SYSTEM and then press . 3. Press to select SETTINGS. 4. Press to show RING DELAY and then press again. 5. Press to select the desired setting and then press to confirm. NOTE: If you select TOLL SAVER, the system answers after the third ring if there are new messages, or after the fifth ring if there is no new message. This allows you to phone in to your system when you are away from home, to see if there are new messages, and if the call is not answered after three or four rings, you can hang up before incurring call charges. iDECT C10i system Remote operation 1 Using a tone-dialling phone, dial your home number 2 While your outgoing message is playing, press 3 Key in your remote security code The default code is 0000. If the 4-digit Remote Access PIN is entered incorrectly two times consecutively, the line will be released automatically. 4 You can also use the codes on the other side of this card Note: If your answering machine is switched off, the phone will enter into the remote access mode after 10 rings. 1. Press <MENU/OK>.
2. Press <UP/DOWN> to select
ANS SYSTEM
and then press <MENU/OK>.
3. Press <UP/DOWN> to select
SETTINGS.
4. Press <MENU/OK> to show
RING DELAY
and then press <MENU/OK>
again.
5. Press <UP/DOWN> to select the desired setting and then press
<MENU/OK> to confirm.
NOTE:
If you select
TOLL SAVER
, the system answers after the third ring
if there are new messages, or after the fifth ring if there is no new message.
This allows you to phone in to your system when you are away from home,
to see if there are new messages, and if the call is not answered after three
or four rings, you can hang up
