Packing and shipping the machine B CAUTION If you pack the machine soon after turning off the power make sure the machine has cooled down completely. h Pack the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly, AC cord and printed materials in the original carton as shown below: When you transport the machine, use the packing materials that came with your machine. If you do not pack the machine properly, you could void your warranty. The machine should be adequately insured with the carrier. a Turn off the machine's power switch. b Unplug all the cables and AC power cord from the machine. c Open the front cover. d Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Leave the toner cartridge installed in the drum unit. e Place the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the plastic bag and seal the bag. f Close the front cover. g Wrap the machine in the plastic bag and place it in the original carton with the original packing material. Note If you are returning your machine to Brother as part of the Exchange Service, pack only the machine. Keep all separate parts and printed materials to use with your "Exchange" machine. i Close the carton and tape it shut. 78

CAUTION
If you pack the machine soon after turning

Open the front cover.

cartridge assembly. Leave the toner
cartridge installed in the drum unit.

Place the drum unit and toner cartridge
assembly into the plastic bag and seal
the bag.

Close the front cover.

Wrap the machine in the plastic bag and
place it in the original carton with the
original packing material.

Pack the drum unit and toner cartridge
assembly, AC cord and printed
materials in the original carton as shown
below:
Note
If you are returning your machine to
Brother as part of the Exchange Service,
pack only the machine. Keep all separate
parts and printed materials to use with
your “Exchange” machine.

Close the carton and tape it shut.
