Troubleshooting Problem Blurred or smudged ink Paper edge is soiled with ink Cause The selected print mode may not match your needs. The print medium being used may not be acceptable. You may be printing on the wrong side of the sheet. Solution Select the print mode most suitable for your needs. When printing through the Canon BJC-70 printer driver for Windows, select the suitable print mode from the printer driver dialog box. If your printout has inkstained areas, try using Fine mode. Use only print media specified in Selecting Paper Types on page 35. Paper has a right side for printing. If the print quality is not as clear as you would like, try turning the paper over and printing on the other side. The platen in the printer may be soiled with ink. Clean the platen with a soft cloth (see page 100). Chapter 8 Troubleshooting 133
