Using the Printer t When the battery pack is low, you can attach the AC adapter to continue printing. You can also use the remaining battery power for limited printing by pressing ON LINE. t You can travel with additional battery packs that are fully charged. t Recharge the battery pack only when the printer indicates a low battery error. Charging the battery before it is fully discharged reduces the battery capacity. (See Chapter 10, Installing and Using the Battery Pack, for details on the battery pack.) t Avoid leaving the printer in a closed automobile where it may be exposed to extreme changes in temperature or humidity. t After installing a BJ cartridge, always leave it in the printer. Storing a BJ Cartridge If you unwrap a BJ cartridge but do not install it in the printer, store it in the BJ cartridge container to prevent the print head from drying and clogging. The print head of a BJ cartridge must never dry or clog. When installed in the printer, the print head is protected from drying. If you remove the BJ cartridge from the printer, the print head will be exposed to the air. 1.
