Metering mode [Centerweighted] [Average] [Spot] Description Meters the entire scene, with an emphasis on the center. Correct exposure is obtained for a subject near the center of the scene, even though the periphery may be slightly darker or lighter. Use for subjects that are in the center of the scene. Meters an average of the entire scene. A uniform exposure is obtained even when the scene has significant differences in brightness. Use for scenes where, for example, cars are passing through or people are entering and exiting. Meters the center of the scene. The correct exposure is obtained for a subject near the center of the scene, irrespective of the brightness of the periphery. Use if the subject is lit by a spotlight or is backlit, where the exposure should be adjusted to the center of the scene. [Shutter]: Specify the shutter speed when [Exposure] is set to [Auto (Shutter Priority)]. • [Manual] 7 Viewer Settings Compensate for the exposure manually. The following exposure compensation settings are displayed. [Iris]: Specify the iris setting. Drag the slider to the left to close down the iris and make the video darker or to the right to open up the iris and make the video brighter. [Shutter]: Specify the shutter speed. [Gain]: Specify the gain (sensitivity to brightness). Drag the slider to the left to decrease the gain and make the video darker or to the right to increase the gain and make the video brighter. (2) [Smart Shade Control] Specify a value to use for the camera's Smart Shade Control feature for live video. [Off]: Display live video using Smart Shade Control value configured on the camera. [Auto]: Set Smart Shade Control to automatic. [1] to [7]: Select one of seven strength levels when setting the Smart Shade Control function manually. (3) [Haze Compensation] Specify a value to use for the camera's haze compensation feature when displaying live video. [Off]: Disable haze compensation. [Auto]: Set haze compensation to automatic. [1] to [7]: Select one of seven strength levels when setting the haze compensation function manually. (4) [Clear IR Mode] Specify whether to display live video while using Clear IR mode or not. [On]: Display video with Clear IR mode enabled. [Off]: Display video with Clear IR mode disabled. Important When [Clear IR Mode] is set to [On] for cameras equipped with both the Clear IR mode and infrared lighting functions, the configurations on the camera will determine whether the infrared lighting is enabled. Note When [Clear IR Mode] is set to [On], video will be black and white. (5) [Aperture Mode] Specify the camera aperture mode. [Night Mode] • [Disabled] Disable the night mode function. • [Enabled] Display live video in night mode. 135
