To configure the switch as a VTP server, perform this task in privileged mode: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Task Define the VTP domain name. Place the switch in VTP server mode. (Optional) Set a password for the VTP domain. Verify the VTP configuration. The client switch receives VTP updates from a VTP server in the management domain and modifies its configuration accordingly. To configure the switch as a VTP client, perform this task in privileged mode: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Task Define the VTP domain name. Place the switch in VTP client mode. Verify the VTP configuration.
