Configuring Quality of Service Configuring Basic Mode Configuring Basic Mode This section contain information for configuring the Basic QoS Mode. Configuring Trust Mode The Trust Setup Page contains information for enabling Trust on the device. Trust is set on a per interface basis. Packets entering a QoS domain are classified at the edge of the QoS domain. When the packets are classified at the edge, Trust mode can be configured on ports. To enable Trust: 1. Click Basic Setup > Quality of Service > Basic Mode >Trust. The Trust Setup Page opens: Figure 111: Trust Setup Page The Trust Setup Page contains the following: • Trust Mode - Defines which packet fields to use for classifying packets entering the device. When no rules are defined, the traffic containing the predefined packet CoS field is mapped according to the relevant trust modes table. Traffic not containing a predefined packet field is mapped to best effort. The possible Trust Mode field values are: - CoS - Classifies traffic based on the CoS tag value. - DSCP - Classifies traffic based on the DSCP tag value. • Always Rewrite DSCP - Rewrites the packet DSCP tag according to the QoS DSCP Rewriting configuration. Always Rewrite DSCP can only be checked if the Trust mode is set to DSCP. 2. Define the Trust Mode field. 3. Click . The trust mode is enabled on the device. Page 176

Configuring Basic Mode
This section contain information for configuring the Basic QoS Mode.
Configuring Trust Mode
The
Trust Setup Page
contains information for enabling Trust on the device. Trust is set on a per interface basis.
Packets entering a QoS domain are classified at the edge of the QoS domain. When the packets are classified at
the edge, Trust mode can be configured on ports. To enable Trust:
1.
Click
Basic Setup > Quality of Service > Basic Mode >Trust
. The
Trust Setup Page
opens:
Figure 111:Trust Setup Page
The
Trust Setup Page
contains the following:
Trust Mode
— Defines which packet fields to use for classifying packets entering the device. When no rules
are defined, the traffic containing the predefined packet CoS field is mapped according to the relevant trust
modes table. Traffic not containing a predefined packet field is mapped to best effort. The possible Trust
Mode field values are:
CoS
— Classifies traffic based on the CoS tag value.
DSCP
— Classifies traffic based on the DSCP tag value.
Always Rewrite DSCP
— Rewrites the packet DSCP tag according to the QoS DSCP Rewriting
configuration. Always Rewrite DSCP can only be checked if the Trust mode is set to DSCP.
2.
Define the
Trust Mode
field.
3.
Click
. The trust mode is enabled on the device.
