Administering Advanced Zoning Deleting a zone object The following procedure removes all references to a zone object and then deletes the zone object. The zone object can be a zone member, a zone alias, or a zone. Use the following procedure to delete a zone object. 1. Connect to the switch and log in using an account with admin permissions. 2. This action could result in removing many zoning configurations recursively. [Removing the last member of a configuration removes the configuration.] Do you want to expunge the member? (yes, y, no, n): [no] yes 4. Enter yes at the prompt. 5. Enter cfgShow to verify the deleted zone object is no longer present. 6. If you want the change preserved when the switch reboots, use cfgSave to save it to nonvolatile (flash) memory. 7. Enter cfgEnable for the appropriate zone configuration to make the change effective. Renaming a zone object Use the following procedure to rename a zone object. 1. Connect to the switch and log in using an account with admin permissions. 2. Deleting a zone object
The following procedure removes all references to a zone object and then deletes the zone object. The zone object can be a zone
member, a zone alias, or a zone.
Use the following procedure to delete a zone object.
1.
Connect to the switch and log in using an account with admin permissions.
2.
Enter the
cfgShow
command to view the zone configuration objects you want to delete.
