Megahertz See MHz. Memory The area where the computer stores data. Memory contents may be permanent (ROM) or temporary (RAM). See also ROM and RAM. Memory module An optional card that adds 2MB or 6MB of extended memory to your computer. (Also called an extension memory module.) Memory-resident program A program that remains in RAM so you can access it while another program is running. MHz Megahertz.
